Why it matters: The Palestinian economy has contracted 84% since the war; Gaza needs $71 billion for recovery. Over 80% of Gaza's population depends on humanitarian aid — aid feeds, but it doesn't build. A dollar invested in a small business creates $4–7 in local economic activity. Gaza unemployment is around 78% — engineers, teachers, designers, builders sitting idle. A generation losing its skills and hope. The diaspora wants to help, the homeland needs help — and no bridge exists. I’m writing again because life here in Gaza has become even more difficult, and this month support has been very limited while our needs continue to grow. Although the rain has stopped, the cold has become harsher. The freezing wind cuts through our tent day and night, making it almost impossible to stay warm. The children shiver at night, and we struggle daily just to protect them from the cold and keep them healthy. Everyday life here is about survival finding warmth, food, and basic necessities, and trying to hold on with dignity. We are doing everything we can, but the situation is overwhelming.
